GOLF
With two 18-hole championship courses, Riverside and Chanticleer, the Greenville Country Club is a year-round golfer's delight. Featuring more holes than any other area facility, the Club offers a maximum of flexible opportunities to play in uncrowded conditions.
The Chanticleer Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, has been rated by Golf Digest as one of America's Top 100 Courses since 1979, and has just been named #6 in South Carolina for 2008. This 6,688-yard par 72 layout is privately situated separately from the rest of the club as a golf-only facility. The course offers one of the most beautiful and challenging golf opportunities available anywhere.' Rolling fairways, towering hardwoods and pines, pure white sand, gently flowing creeks, and some of the most challenging greens in the nation combine to make Chanticleer one of the most memorable experiences in the U.S. for even the best golfers.
The Riverside Course, originally designed by Donald Ross' firm in 1923 and redesigned by George Cobb in 1962, weaves along the Reedy and adjoins the club's main facilities. In 2006 the club commissioned famed architect, Brian Silva to completely redesign the course in the Seth Raynor style and the course opened to rave revues in the fall of 2007.
Both Chanticleer and Riverside have their own pro shops, restaurants, and practice areas - complete with driving ranges, practice greens, practice bunkers, teaching facilities and club storage. The club employs five full-time PGA Professionals who provide year-round private lessons, club fitting and equipment assistance.
TENNIS
The Greenville Country Club's history and reputation in golf are equaled by its tennis heritage. The championship tennis center includes 17 individual courts, 13 of which are clay and four deco turf hard courts. Ten of the courts are lit for night play.
The Club's Tennis House is home to locker room facilities and a pro shop featuring a complete line of racquets, apparel, equipment and footwear. The tennis staff includes four full-time professionals and a pro shop manager. In addition, the Club has also hosted top-flight state and regional events at all levels and is home to one of the top junior tennis programs in the Carolinas.
A cornerstone of the Club's tennis program is its Ladies Tennis Association. With over 300 members, the LTA offers opportunities for players of all levels. The ladies also compete in active league play at the local and state levels.
SWIMMING
The Greenville Country Club's Swim is among the finest in the area for both the competitive and recreational swimmer. The center features two full-size pools, a diving area, and a wading pool for infants. One pool is reserved for adults and lap swimmers, while the other provides both a diving area and a shallow end for youngsters and families. The pool area, which is open seven days a week from late May through Labor-Day, also includes a modern bath house with locker rooms, a spacious grill and youth room, and a ladies lounge and card room.
For the competitive swimmer, the Club provides a swim team for youngsters from ages four to 18 who compete in Greenville's Sail program. A staff of certified swim team coaches train the more than 200 youngsters enrolled in the program each year. County
YOUTH
Family activities are an integral part of the Greenville Country Club's unique atmosphere. And nowhere is this more evident than in the Club's Youth Programs, which provide first-class athletic training and competition opportunities for children of members.
The cornerstone of the program is the Club's junior tennis program, unparalleled in the area. Repeatedly named 'Best in the Carolinas," the year-round program includes more than 150 youngsters from age four Pee Wees through state champion teenagers.
For the competitive swimmer, the Club provides a swim team for youngsters from ages four to 18 who compete in Greenville's SAIL program. A staff of certified swim team coaches train the more than 200 youngsters enrolled in the program each year. County

CLUBHOUSE and DINING
The Greenville Country Club's 30,000-square-foot clubhouse is one of the city's most elegant meeting destinations. Whether you are looking for a small business meeting, afternoon tea, or a wedding reception for 500, the Club will exceed your expectations.
Three dining venues call the clubhouse home, including the Club Room, which boasts truly outstanding five-course gourmet dinners considered by many to be among the finest cuisine in Greenville. The Family Grille is perfect for more casual lunches and dinners, while the The Riveside Pub is a great place to enjoy a business lunch or relax after a round of golf.
In addition, there are six private rooms available, whether for small meetings, private functions, or large receptions and gatherings of up to 600 guests. The entire upper floor covers 22,000 square feet.
